Dub Pistols, Ft. Terry Hall
Terry Hall joins the Dub Pistols for the mighty 'Problem Is'
People are getting the message. The Dub Pistols have made a cracking album. Simple as that. Barry Ashworth and his assorted crew of beats and pieces have notched up a mighty long player. 'Six Million Ways To Live' is a call to arms. An album where the blood-warm pulse of hip-hop, dub and ska receive a thorough seeing to via the needle-sharp miracle of modern technology. With a line-up that brings together Horace Andy, Terry Hall, Planet Asia and Sight Beyond Light, this is the perfect album to give your stereo the summer work-out it so obviously needs.
First single up is the ska-pop shake of 'Problem Is' with the legendary Terry Hall on vocals. A track that provoked Xfm's biggest ever listener response when it was aired entirely without permission recently.
'I've always been a massive Terry Hall fan,' says Barry. 'I thought he'd never, ever do another ska record as long as he lived, but he loved the track and recorded the vocals in my front room. As did Horace Andy, who arrived dressed in a gold lame suit'
'Problem Is' comes with a killer set of remixes. Creamer and Stephane K knocks in a nocturnal house excursion of the highest order, Jon Carter's mix fries the synapses with a proper breakbeat onslaught, Soul Of Man provide some dub-house-disco and the Dub Pistols themselves supply a forward thinking Breaks mix. A proper package.
'You kill my cat, I'll kill your dog'
